Message of Love – Stories around a Mother’s Passing

“This book is Christina’s experience of the journey of her relationship with her mother, Miep, as it reaches its most poignant and life-enhancing moment - in the final days of her mother’s life. Christina’s journey could be any of our own journeys with our own mothers – her themes are universal: our need to be loved and accepted, our feelings of not quite measuring up to an impossible standard, of being rejected. What makes this work unique, I believe, is Christina’s openness and honesty in sharing her inner journey and her willingness to give a voice to experiences which are oftentimes too numinous to grasp, and thus for which it is almost impossible to find words. And yet, somehow, she does, and we are led through a moving and tender-hearted trail of self-discovery back to the source of all – love.”

“This story really resonated with me. In fact I read it twice. Both times it brought tears to my eyes. It will stay with me for quite a while…”

Be Who You Are – Messages from a Father’s Life and Passing

When her father passed away Christina had no experience of death or dying. Although she did her best, she later realized that she had made some cardinal mistakes and missed a number of golden opportunities to connect at a deeper level and help make the passing much easier for him – and for her. When her mother’s end was nearing she chose to prepare in advance and their last days together became a time of tremendous transformation, as recounted in her first book Messages of Love – Stories Around a Mother’s Passing. At the next anniversary of her father’s passing, she wished that she could have been there for him in the same way and in that moment the wish manifested into inspiration to create a process around “Revisiting a Parent’s Life and Passing” – and this, her second book, spontaneously birthed out of that.

“Those on a spiritual pathway will delight in this book! How is one to make sense of the tangled and complex dynamics between father and daughter … especially after one’s father has died and is no longer present in physical form to answer those heartfelt questions? Christina’s questioning mind and burgeoning soul reach out to us, her readers, in this journey of insight and realisation. Christina’s path – from unconscious incompetence at her father, Paps’, bedside during his final days, through her many and alternate pathways of self-discovery –from NLP (Neuro Liguistic Programming), EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), and leading back always to her self-discovered and on-going practice of Sacred Movement – to her increasingly conscious understanding of both her own and her father’s processes both enthrall and enlighten us.

As with most of us, Christina’s life lessons are hard-learned. Misunderstanding, pain, loss, grief and judgement liberally intersperse with peace, humour, love, connection and understanding. This is a very human story told without reserve; shared with the open heart I have come to expect from her. In sharing the story she shines some light on such relationship trouble spots as alcoholism, inappropriate petting, the effects of addiction to sugar and coffee in the body and psyche, and thus on relationships. She also illuminates how to find the Gifts of relationship in order to help transform our understanding of it: a process that can also be used to bring completion in advance of a person passing. It is equally applicable to any other relationships in our lives.”
