Christina Nienaber-Roberts MSc

Natural Health Practitioner, Registered Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist,

Certified Kripalu Yoga and Energy Work Teacher

and DONA Birth Doula Candidate

Christina’s childhood love of Nature led to a Masters degree in Geology in 1986 – and a 25 years career as an Earth Scientist cum Naturalist and freelance Photographer, Writer, Speaker and Artist, living in Africa, Australia, Arabia, the UK and BC.

Her world-view was essentially that of a left-brain analytical scientist, trained in the Newtonian tradition.  After experiencing chronic fatigue for a number of years, on the edge of giving up on life…

In April of 1999 she experienced an Unexpected Awakening

when a vivid dream that ended

with a voice booming through the room

after she had woken, commanding her to have the lump under left armpit checked out. “It is very important!”  It hit her like a proverbial earthquake, precipitating a shift in consciousness and that compelled her to take responsibility for her own healing. She refocused her scientific research skills towards understanding the causes of dis-ease and how people can tune into their innate healing abilities to reverse the process and essentially became her own scientific experiment.   She embraced an Ayurvedic lifestyle (the Science of Life of the Yogis) and explored a number of other modalities.

Within 3 months the lump was gone and the quality of her life and her life-experience had completely changed.

A year after her wake-up call, she dropped into meditation

and Sacred Movement spontaneously blossomed within her

When she opened her eyes 20 minute later, her scoliosis disappeared – so she surrendered to it daily and learnt more about it through experience.  Totally in awe – sensing it to be a Sacred Gift – she chose from then on to surrender to it as a twice-daily practice. With every immersion, the experiences altered to slowly revealed more and more of what It was about. Eventually she understood this to be an incremental transformation or ‘healing’ and integration of body, mind, spirit and emotions – right down to the level of the DNA.

Soon she started receiving invitations to share her experiences

and the key tools she had used during her own journey – through workshops and writing

In gratitude for the new understanding of life that she had gained along the way, she accepted the opportunities this offered to inspire people to take responsibility for their own health and wholeness, and to follow their dreams. She fully believes that we are all truly capable of living the life we’d love. All we need to “do” is relax deep within to reconnect with our Sacred Self and allow it to guide and inspire us!

As part of her committment to continued professional development

Christina has been researching touch-points between Sacred Movement and a multitude of disciplines

This resulted in her obtaining certification to teach Kripalu Yoga, and Reiki, and training in other Energy Work modalities such as Healing Touch, and Holistic as well as Palliative Massage, and she is currently completing the paperwork for her Birth Doula certification. Discussions with a variety of Teachers from around the world, from Buddhism to the Traditional Shamanic Healing Arts of her native Africa and Windwalker Natural Spiritual Awareness Training, together with exploration of The Physics of Healing Touch, Developing the Intuitive Mind,  Buddhist Tantra, Continuum Movement, Reconnective Healing, The Presence Process, Sound Healing, Kundalini Chakra Dance, Soul Journeys, The Dalian Healing Method, and others – and companioning the dying and the grieving have brought additional insights that have been enriching her ability to Relax and Feel Radiant herself and to facilitate that in others through her work.

Christina feels deeply grateful

for each and every one of her life experiences

the opportunity to do the work that she feels called to, the amazing people that she continually meets through her work and socially, and for the opportunity to live in the beautiful Comox Valley on Vancouver Island with her husband and soul mate of many life-times, Keith.  Her life is truly blessed!

Christina is currently working on her third book – on her journey.  Her first two books are available through the Shop.
